Eggs are a good source of protein and just one large egg can provide 6 – 7 grams of protein. Egg yolks offer 17%, while white eggs (protein) offer 11%.
Another advantage of protein is its ability to stimulate muscle protein synthesis. Studies have shown that using eggs as part of a diet containing whey proteins can provide greater anabolic stimulation than consuming individual soy or wheat proteins.

Eggs are an excellent source of many essential vitamins and minerals, such as vitamins A, B2 (riboflavin), B12, D, and selenium. Additionally, they contain small amounts of omega-3 fatty acids that promote brain function and eye health.
Eggs offer a range of minerals and trace elements such as zinc, iron, phosphorus, selenium, iodine, copper and magnesium. In addition, they offer Lutein and zeaxanthin, two types of carotenoids especially beneficial for the eyes, which together can prevent cataracts and age-related macular degeneration, while improving vision and eye health.

To ensure you get all the minerals you need, you should eat a balanced diet that includes plenty of dark leafy green vegetables, lean meat, fish and poultry, as well as whole grains, legumes, nuts, seeds and dairy products.
