Another Idea
Perhaps this little black dog didn't belong in this forest—or maybe shouldn't be here at all. The thought struck David suddenly. How could such a young creature end up in this remote spot? Could humans have deliberately placed it here? The idea grew more plausible. David pondered if someone had abandoned the puppy in the wild, leaving it defenseless against nature's perils.
This realization bolstered David's determination to protect the tiny dog. If humans caused its plight, he felt a duty to show compassion and correct the wrong.
