39.The Veterinarian’s Revelation
The veterinarian began by clearing his throat and speaking in a measured tone. “Mr. Addison, I’ve completed a preliminary examination of the animal you brought in, and I must say… this is not a domestic animal. In fact, it’s not even close to what we would consider a typical wild animal in this region.” Addison’s heart sank as the words confirmed his deepest suspicions.
Pausing briefly, the veterinarian continued, “Based on the physical characteristics, behavior, and some initial tests, I believe this creature belongs to a species that is not native to this area—or even this continent. It appears to be a juvenile predator, possibly a member of a rare or exotic species. I’ll need more time and perhaps assistance from specialists to confirm its exact origin, but one thing is certain: this is no ordinary animal.”
