In this remote area, taxis were nowhere to be found. Addison tried contacting several drivers via his smartphone, briefly explaining the situation. But the significant distance and the isolation of the location didn’t seem to convince the drivers. One of them, after notable hesitation, finally agreed to come pick him up, but the conversation remained awkward. Meanwhile, the weather was worsening, making drivers even more reluctant to travel the distance to the veterinary clinic.
