Out of the ocean

The third aircraft in ANA's A380 series from the Airbus paint shop in Hamburg, Germany, features an adorable Hawaiian sea turtle design. This airline is the initial customer for the Japanese superjumbo and ANA's two other A380s are expected to receive the same treatment as the one shown above. Narita-Honolulu is a convenient flight route because sea turtles can be found in Hawaii. In addition to blue, the first design will also come in green and orange colors. Airbus' most ambitious project, the ANA A380 is an exceptionally complex masterpiece. It took 21 days to paint the 3,600 m2 plane and involved 16 different shades.
