The airport has issued several requirements for pilots in order to land nearby. This includes working for a year under similar conditions and completing 100 short flights taking off and landing on reduced runways.
With a short runway and high altitude, you're in for a dangerously thrilling experience upon arriving at Lukla (also known as Tenzing-Hillary Airport). I have flown in and out of this airport and it is really exciting! When you land you can see the mountain in front of you and hope that the brakes have been recently serviced.
